I am very sad to hear about the passing of Alan. We were classmates in Syracuse at both Salem Hyde and Nottingham High School. It was Alan who use to sing Shoe Fly Pie and Apple Pan Dowdie and we use to entertain the students at Salem Hyde Grade School marching down the aisle while singing it.
